It’s hard to believe the holidays are already upon us– and what an incredible year this has been! Seeing two decades of planning and perseverance culminate in the grand opening of our beautiful new Museum in October was a true highlight for me and for the many of you who traveled the long journey with us.
While we are celebrating this holiday season with family and friends, we can also take comfort in knowing that dedicated first responders are hard at work every day to keep our families, friends, and communities safe.
It’s that dedication and commitment that I hope each visitor to the Museum identifies and appreciates as they take a “walk in the shoes” of law enforcement. Being able to provide visitors with the history, the challenges, and the achievements of law enforcement in one of the most immersive and engaging experiences available to the public is truly an accomplishment that gives me great pride.
We could not have made this incredible journey without the help of friends like you, and we won’t be able to continue without it either. As you plan your end-of-year giving, I hope that you’ll keep the Museum and its important mission in mind. While monetary donations are important to every museum, there are many ways to make a positive contribution to the Museum’s future, from volunteering your time and expertise to purchasing a membership and sharing posts about the Museum on social media with family and friends. Even something as simple as writing a Trip Advisor review of your Museum visit is a meaningful way to help us move forward.
Finally, I want to take a moment to thank and recognize our CEO and Founder, Craig W. Floyd, whose vision and perseverance brought the Museum to life. As he retires from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, I know that the entire Museum team joins me in gratitude for all that he has given of himself to our organization. His new role as Founding CEO Emeritus will help guide us as we continue on our mission to provide a “walk in the shoes” experience of law enforcement to all who visit the Museum.
I wish each of you a very safe and happy holiday season and I look forward to seeing you at the Museum very soon.
