Daisies will learn about the role of police officers in their community and how to demonstrate respect for authority figures through role-playing games, a story-time activity, and a visit from a police officer.
Junior Girl Scouts will put on their detective gear to practice the power of observation, communicate in code, dust for fingerprints, dive into forensic science, and follow clues to solve a mystery. Scouts will fulfill all requirements for earning the Junior Detective Badge.
Cadettes will hone their powers of detection by learning how to dust for fingerprints and read body language cues. Cadettes will also test their powers of observation through eyewitness testimony challenges and sketch a crime scene.
Scouts will learn a short history of fingerprinting, the basic principles of fingerprinting science, and the identification markers of fingerprints. Scouts will participate in a demonstration to lift a latent fingerprint and identify their own fingerprints using a ten-print card.
